Travelers Wiki

Pike, also known as the Speaker, was a member of the Army. She was overwritten by two separate Travelers: an unnamed Traveler who was a Faction loyalist; and Traveler 009, a programmer.

History[]

009 Future History[]

Traveler 009 was a programmer responsible for maintaining the Director. The Director suspected that she might be loyal to the Faction, which proved untrue.

Host[]

Little is known about Pike's life prior to being overwritten. She was a member of the United States Armed Forces, which likely lead to her selection as a host.

Unnamed Traveler[]

Pike was overwritten by a Traveler whose consciousness had been stored in the quantum frame. The core team (with some assistance) captured her, Foster, and Jones under the Director's orders. Pike was taken to a church building where the trio were overwritten once more.

Traveler 009[]

The newly arrived Traveler introduced herself as a programmer sent from the future to preside over the trial of Grace Day for crimes against the Director. She appeared to be the leader of the three. The trial began with witness testimony from Grant MacLaren, whom Foster questioned; Pike gave Grace a warning after she interjected twice. When Grace objected that she had been acting in defense of the Director, Pike informed her that the Director itself ordered the hearing.

Next, Pike personally questioned Trevor Holden on the stand. She brought up Trevor's protocol violation when he attempted to save the life of Grace's host. Pike told Trevor about how the Traveler program had been halted for four hours as a result of Grace's actions. When Jones questioned Marcy Warton, Pike acknowledged that Grace's effort to save her while also resetting the Director was "admittedly a brilliant piece of work."

After the three witnesses had testified Pike asked Grace if she had anything to say in her own defense. She listened to Grace's statement, then adjourned the trial so the three judges could deliberate. The following day she announced that the tribunal found Grace guilty. Unbeknownst to anyone, the entire trial was staged by the Director to ascertain who was guilty of corrupting it. The Director suspected Pike, Foster, and Jones, and sent the three back in time to determine which one of them was truly loyal to the Faction. Pike was part of the team that captured Jones, the real turncoat. (S2E08: Traveler 0027)

Later the Director ordered Pike to assist the core team in removing a rogue messenger program from the brain of Naomi Gillen. Pike suggested reprogramming the nanites in Naomi's brain to target the other nanites under the Messenger's control, knowing the collateral damage would likely kill the host. When Naomi went into cardiac arrest and Marcy used a defibrillator, Pike chastised her for shutting off all the nanites. Nonetheless, Naomi's brain activity had returned to normal, so Pike believed her mission a success and left the team's base of operations. (S3E05: Naomi)
