Dawn is a high-ranking member of the Faction who survived the Director's repeated purges in the 21st century.
Averted Death[]
As a Faction member, Dawn was either someone who was forcibly overwritten by the quantum frame or a formerly loyal Traveler who turned traitor. Philip Pearson asserts her host wasn't fated to die but she still took it. (S3E06: Philip)
Biography[]
Along with Michelle, Dawn orchestrates an operation to intercept Traveler 001's current host Dr. Katrina Perrow while she's in transit. However, Dr. Perrow suffers a car accident and is brought to Coastal Cross Hospital, prompting the Faction to sneak her out of there. At a more secure location Dawn pressures Michelle to do something about Perrow's injuries, but the latter retorts they lack the necessary equipment.
When Perrow regains consciousness Dawn attempts to feed her, though she refuses. Dawn and Michelle then introduce themselves as Faction, seeking 001's help and resources. Talking privately, Michelle recommends to Dawn that they must find a new host for 001. Dawn is reluctant as it would increase their risk of detection by the Director, but Perrow's body is dying.
With little choice, Dawn allows Perrow to activate her failsafe tracker to bring her forces (and consciousness transfer device) to her location. She divulges the Faction's origins and reveals that 001 eventually becomes their leader in the future, with Dawn personally swearing fealty to the future version of 001. He is not supposed to know about it until much later, but the Faction is in dire straits in the present, which leads to Dawn begging 001 to take up the leadership role much earlier.
A brief skirmish erupts when Perrow's reinforcements arrive as they had orders to consider everyone except their boss hostile. Dawn wheels Perrow to safety during this time. After a few casualties on both sides Perrow orders her forces to stand down and agrees to work with the Faction. (S3E04: Perrow)
Dawn later spearheads the kidnapping of Historians after an Update session which includes Philip, Kyle, Nathan, and Karina. She personally tries to convert Philip to their cause by arguing the Director's way isn't working, claiming the information the Historians provide would be put to better use under the Faction. She further threatens they can get what they want from him by force, but they'd rather have Philip cooperate willingly.
The Core Traveler Team eventually determine where Dawn is keeping the Historians and raid the building. Philip catches up to a fleeing Dawn, who keeps trying to convince him they're on the same side. As a gesture of goodwill Dawn slides over the keys to the other Historians' cells, and tries to stop another Faction member sneaking up behind him. Philip manages to shoot the guy, but Dawn uses the distraction to escape. (S3E06: Philip)
Dawn later determines that there are Traveler spies within the Faction. Summoning Tristen and Jeff Conniker to her claiming she wants to reward their efforts with more responsibilities, Dawn overloads Tristen's comm, prompting Jeff to beat the former up. Dawn then orders Jeff to shoot the spy as a test of his loyalty, and the policeman complies. Dawn then tasks Jeff with guarding the recaptured Karina while she and Ben attend to other matters.
Unbeknownst to Dawn Jeff is also a spy for the Director and frees Karina. Dawn is absent during Jeff and Karina's escape, and her whereabouts remain unknown while the Faction goes on to trigger a worldwide nuclear apocalypse. (S3E09: David, S3E10: Protocol Omega)
