The Bellevue Butcher[]
At an undisclosed remote location, the paramedic Andrew Matthias Graham sorts through the belongings of Linda MacVicar and tosses most of them into a pile. He saves a necklace, pours gasoline over the rest, and sets them on fire.

While driving away, Andrew becomes involved in a vehicular accident that almost burns him to death. His T.E.L.L. activates, and he's overwritten by a Traveler who quickly disables his seatbelt to escape the vehicle. Passersby Emily and Jack see his distress and assist by smothering him with a blanket and calling 911. However, he vomits up a human eye after the danger has passed, and he's arrested on suspicion of desecrating a human corpse once the authorities arrive.
Analysis on the eye indicates it belonged to Linda MacVicar. A wealth of evidence is uncovered linking Andrew to the Bellevue Butcher murders, a serial killer who murdered and ate women who abused their offspring. A day after his arrest, Andrew is brought to the FBI Washington field office for further questioning by Grant MacLaren and Joanne Yates. They indicate Andrew responded to a domestic violence call at MacVicar's house and rushed her son Ronnie to the hospital for his injury two nights ago. Andrew is revealed to have been around in some capacity to five more murders attributed to the Butcher.

Andrew denies all allegations, refuses legal representation, and asks Yates to get him a glass of water. Once she's away he tells Grant he's Traveler 7189 and on a very important, time-sensitive mission that only he can accomplish. He explains The Director missed the circumstances of Andrew Graham's life as all evidence was destroyed in the fire that was supposed to have killed him.
Meanwhile at Humphries University, physicists Samantha Burns and Amanda Myers celebrate the pending publication of their groundbreaking, potentially Nobel Prize-winning, research.

Grant tries to convince Yates to temporarily release Andrew to complete his mission, but Yates won't budge because Grant won't tell her anything about the mission. Grant is forced to call the Core Traveler Team to ambush Andrew's security and take him while he's in transit. Trevor Holden, Carly Shannon and Marcy Warton wear ski masks in an attempt to hide their identities. However, Yates still recognizes them and assembles a retaliation force in response.
Carly and Trevor bring Andrew to Humphries University to speak with Burns and Myers. However, Myers isn't around. Burns is spooked at Andrew's appearance as his face and alleged escape has been prominent in the recent news cycle. Andrew proceeds to lecture her on the dangers of her research.

Back at Ops, Grant, Philip Pearson, and Marcy are stormed by heavily armed forces under Yates' command. She demands to know Andrew's location. The Travelers reluctantly explain why he had to complete his mission at any cost: Burns and Myers are the inventors of the singularity engine, which is due to be published in the day. However, in 2038 it causes a civilization-ending catastrophe that instantly kills billions and many more afterward, in addition to destroying Earth's ozone layer. Traveler 7189 is one of only a few people, in the present or the future, who fully understood the mathematics behind the singularity engine.
Grant then drives Yates to Humphries in time to catch the tail end of Andrew's talk with Burns. Burns is disappointed and horrified, but recognizes the danger. She vows to pull her research and talk to Myers about it. Grant then treats Andrew to a feast as a reward for saving the world, which he chows down with enthusiasm. As promised, he is to go back to custody to answer for his host's crimes. Having fully realized the gravity of the situation, Yates instructs two agents to let Andrew finish his meal before taking him.
Philip's Timeline Troubles[]

At Ops, Philip wakes up with a naked Carly beside him, who's glad they grabbed some coffee. Except this never happened. He further sees multiple Trevors doing various things incongruous to each other, before realizing the real one is just sitting in front of him, observing.
Because Philip swore off the Update drugs after his kidnapping, he's seeing several projections simultaneously. Trevor warns him this will impact his performance in the field, but Philip is resolute in getting better by himself.

Trevor thinks of an idea to help. He coaches Philip in a mindfulness/meditation exercise, constantly reminding him to relax and focus. However, the mission involving Andrew Graham takes precedence, and they attend to that first. Fortunately he doesn't suffer any incidents during the mission.
Afterward, Philip walks with Carly, musing that Trevor is right for saying going for walks is good for the soul. He tries to ask Carly out for coffee, but he sees the bright flash of a nuclear explosion in the horizon. Carly snaps him out of it: it hasn't happened yet in this timeline, but a nuke indeed has detonated in London.
The Director's Archives[]

David Mailer takes self-defense lessons from Marcy, but is self-conscious doing it in a public park. He eventually manages to flip Marcy as she lunges for him, and considers it a small victory.
Carly and Jeff Conniker are eating in public, remarking on the latter's dated 21st century slang training. A text calls Jeff away to a Traveler mission he isn't at liberty to discuss, though Carly understands.
Back at the Mailer residence, David and Marcy continue to do stretching exercises. David receives a text from Jeff saying he can't make it to their meeting. David's worried about Jeff, and Marcy reminds him he's on his day off. They are about to have sex, but Carly comms her they have a mission: break out Andrew Graham.
At a Faction hideout, Jeff and Tristen are summoned by Dawn. She overloads Tristen's comm, outing him as a spy. Jeff beats him up, then shoots him to prove his loyalty to the Faction. Jeff is then assigned to guard Karina the recaptured Archivist while Dawn and Ben attend to other matters.

Once Jeff is alone with the Archivist, he frees her restraints. His mission is to infiltrate the Faction and find her. Karina informs him the Faction's after the archive, but she doesn't know how much information she spilled due to being drugged. Jeff singlehandedly plows through the remaining Faction members in the hideout hampering their escape, then brings Karina to David's home for medical attention thinking Marcy's there.
As Marcy is otherwise occupied at Ops helping explain things to Yates, David scrambles to assist what he thinks is a woman bleeding to death. Once Karina's stabilized, Jeff enlists David as armed backup in the mission to save the archive. Using David's phone, Karina invokes Protocol Epsilon and calls for armed reinforcements at the archive's coordinates. Jeff stands guard outside when they reach it, while David is unwittingly exposed to the Traveler world once again by following Karina to the vault.

While drawing her own blood, Karina explains the blood bags are storage media for nanites carrying historical information for the Director. As none of the other archives around the world are responding, destruction of this archive will blind the Director. A firefight commences outside and stops. Karina thinks her reinforcements have arrived, but is proven wrong when she is shot through the head. David, carrying a load of blood bags beside her, is also shot repeatedly in the chest.
