Travelers Wiki

Andrew Matthias Graham (Traveler 7189) is a paramedic who was also a cannibalistic serial killer known as the Bellevue Butcher. He was overwritten by a specialist Traveler with an important mission who had not known about the murders.

Averted Death[]

Graham was fated to die after a fire started in his car. While driving he attempted to light a cigarette with the cigarette lighter, but fumbled the receptacle. He tried to reach for it, but he had to avoid colliding with another car. The receptacle ignited the carpeting, and because some gasoline splashed on Graham's shoes the fire quickly spread to him. He wasn't able to disengage the seatbelt quickly, so he burned to death around 4:29 PM.

History[]

7189 Future History[]

7189 had a very specific mission that was not predicted to have many complications. As such, he did not receive as much training as many other Travelers and seemed unfamiliar with some 21st century customs.

Andrew Graham[]

Graham worked as a paramedic and had a family. However, he also had a secret career as a serial killer named the Bellevue Butcher.

Since at least 2006 the Butcher killed and ate at least six women, including Nancy Cooper and Linda MacVicar. He targeted mothers who were abusive to their children, and FBI agent Joanne Yates believes the women triggered Graham's memories of his own abusive mother.

Graham used his paramedic job to choose his victims. He was generally careful to avoid leaving anything to identify him like his DNA, and disposed of most of the victims' things except for some keepsakes.

One night, Graham was one of the first responders to a domestic violence call at Linda MacVicar's house. He rushed her son Ronnie to the hospital to treat his arm. The next day he abducted and murdered MacVicar.

The day after killing MacVicar, Graham tosses her belongings to a pile and prepares to burn them. MacVicar's cellphone rings, and Graham answers but wordlessly listens to Ronnie on the other end saying sorry to his mom. Graham cancels the call, tosses it to the pile, and burns all of it except a necklace. He then drives off to have an accident and be overwritten by a Traveler.

In the original timeline, his 12-year crime spree went undiscovered as he was unable to get out of his car in time. The vehicle and all incriminating evidence burned with him.

Traveler 7189[]

While his pants are on fire, the Traveler calmly extricates himself from the seatbelt and escapes from the vehicle. Passersby Emily and Jack exit their car to assist him, smothering him with a blanket and calling emergency services. He ends up with only minor wounds and his car is more or less intact.

Graham vomits after the danger has passed, ejecting an intact human eyeball. His rescue turns into arrest as he is detained on suspicion of desecrating a corpse. The FBI quickly prove that the eyeball belonged to MacVicar and found additional evidence tying Graham to five more murders. Graham refuses legal counsel and continuously maintains his innocence, expressing horror at the crimes.

He is interrogated by Grant MacLaren and Joanne Yates. Midway through the interview Graham asks for a glass of water. When Yates goes to get it, Graham reveals to MacLaren that he is a Traveler. He insists that the Director did not know about the murders because originally all the DNA evidence was destroyed in the car fire.

With considerable effort and against Yates' direct orders, the Core Traveler Team facilitates Graham's temporary escape and takes him to Humphries University. There Graham is able to complete his mission: inform the singularity engine's creators of the perils of their own creation. Graham is said to be one of only a few people, past and future, who truly understood the mathematics behind a disaster that the engine will cause in 2038.

Dr. Samantha Burns is dismayed to learn the consequences of her engine, but promises to inform her co-creator Dr. Amanda Myers (who isn't around) about it. Graham sympathizes, and awkwardly hugs Burns in response.

Grant treats Andrew to a feast as a reward for saving the world, considering he is slated to go back to prison to answer for his host's crimes. He relishes eating "not dogs" and drinking shakes that no longer exist in the future he departed. Yates, upon learning his mission, allows him to finish off the meal before he's returned to federal custody.
